Britton Procol compact blowing seals were originally developed for use beneath flour silos, where their compact size is advantageous in installations with limited space. Heavy-duty versions suitable for handling most free-flowing products are available in both light and heavy-duty configurations.
Heavy-duty compact blowing seals are designed to feed a wide range of dry granular solids and powders directly into pneumatic conveying systems. Similar in construction to standard rotary valves, they incorporate an integral entrainment trough within the valve body and pipeline connection flanges in the valve endplates, ensuring total product evacuation from the rotor pockets.
High sealing efficiency results in a low pressure drop across the valve, allowing effective handling of low-density products that may be easily fluidised. The valve body includes venting ports as standard for purging rotor pockets. For very light materials, an integral vent is recommended to provide a more efficient method of rotor venting.
