Gravity Diverter Valve: Type GD

  • Mild steel or stainless steel construction
  • Sizes from 100mm to 300mm
  • Double slide-plate design
  • Pneumatic operation
  • Fully enclosed and dust-tight
  • Diverts flow or provides positive shut-off

The Type GD gravity diverter valve is manufactured in either mild steel or stainless steel and is designed for the control of gravity-fed powders and granular bulk solids in industries such as food, chemicals, and plastics.

Smooth internal faces prevent product lodgement, while independent control of the two slide plates allows the valve to divert flow to the left or right, or to close both outlets. Unlike flap-type diverters, the valve can be operated while product is flowing and can also function as a shut-off valve.

Maximum standard operating temperature is 80 °C, with versions available up to 150 °C by special order. Operation is via two pneumatic cylinders controlled by solenoid valves. Optional reed switches provide electrical position indication, with alternative switchgear available for hazardous area requirements.
